Please reach us at saveshibas@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our rescued Shibas usually come from distressed situations, from animal shelters or were found as strays. We temperament test them and address training needs, if needed.
We would like to take our time in finding the right match for you and your family. Some of our Shibas may not be good with children, or sometimes they don't get along with other family pets. To help us find the right match for your home, we ask that you complete an Application to Adopt questionnaire. Bear with us, but once a good match is found, we will be in contact with you.
Saving Shibas Inc. supports responsible breeding and promotes getting your pet from a reputable Shiba Inu breeder. We recommend selecting a breeder who does applicable health screens. Responsible breeders can be used as a helpful resource throughout your pet's life. To find a breeder near you, please check http://www.shibas.org/breeders.html . To learn more about selecting the "right" breeder, please check this site.
Remember that the cost of the pet is not the only expense! Annual vaccinations, unexpected medical fees, food, your schedule(s), home/living arrangement(s), etc. should also all be a part of your analysis when deciding on taking in a pet.
We do not have a facility. We are a small group of volunteers, relying on foster homes to provide for our rescued Shibas. Please send us an email with an application to set up an appointment!
